Health is a state of mind, wellness is a state of being.

“Extraordinary circumstances and life events require an extraordinary way of approaching the healing. wE CAN UNCOVER AND RECOVER WHAT’S BEEN LOST”

  • High Vibrations

It all begins with basic needs. Explore what might be out of balance with rest, water and food. We can go back to the basics with food and think about what our ancestors ate right from the soil. One way to blaze a path of wellness is to feed the brain calories that work for us instead of against us so we can feel energized and alive. Foods with high vibration can help bring out sympathetic nervous system into more of a parasympathetic state.

One way to see life is not in the life span but in a “health span” and how we can prolong life with nourishment. Notice that when we eat our mood immediately changes. We are naturally attracted to bright and natural colors. Processed foods are creatively designed and packaged to replicate the “bright colors” our eyes and brain find attractive. Healthy foods bring water, nutrients and minerals directly to our cells and can expedite healing.

Bright colors from the earth are full of high vibrations, they make us feel more alert and oriented. Packaged and processed food can have unnatural flavors and chemicals. Food is one easy way to begin a healing journey. Start with adjusting caffeine intake, take an inventory of your average sleep hours or modify bedtime hygiene (habits than can improve sleep). Grab yourself a healthy snack, some water and get some rest.

  • Creative self Expression

Motion changes E-Motion! The body is intended to move, stretch and feel. We store trauma and feelings on a sensory, visceral and cellular level. I believe that it lives in our bones too. I’ve heard clients say “this feels painful”. I also speak to clients about emotional hangovers - the fatigue and disorientation we feel the day after therapy or an uncomfortable encounter. It’s important that we take care of ourselves during these times.

Perhaps you have an overdue vision board to complete, a funky playlist to sing or dance to, an instrument to strum or bang on, organizing an old closet. To reach a creative place - we can always start with one thing we can control (i.e. rearrange the apps on your phone, throw one thing away, clean out your fridge, fill a donation box of things you no longer need).

These small steps can lead us to feel empowered participants of our own lives. Take it a step further and YouTube a hobby or project have an interest in. Walk around the block of your neighborhood or cook / bake a new or old dish.

  • Intention and Connection

We are hard wired for connection. Humans are not intended to live alone. If we were emotionally injured along the way, we might feel fearful to trust others or spend any amount of time with people.

We can begin to connect through music, nature, animals, old photographs, mementos. We can start to think of what we want for ourselves and the small areas in our lives where we wish to have more quality. There are studies that positive words inspire plants to grow. Nature is responsive to wellness, and we are a part of that ecosystem!

The same is for us, if we create a more developed and compassionate voice to self our outlook changes. Plants and animals that are not fed the right ingredients of nurture, attention and love cannot survive.
